Girtain Sign Company is a family owned, full-service sign company.  We have been operating in the Tri-State area for over sixty-five years meeting all signage needs and are now in our third generation.  Our company was started in 1938 by Edgar Fikes Girtain, who was known locally for his unmatched talent in lettering.  His oldest son, Edgar Fikes Girtain Jr., realized he also had the talent to hand letter and took over the company in the 1960’s. He expanded the hand lettering business to include illuminated signs and maintenance.  He watched the business change in the late 80’s as everything went from being done by hand, to the world of computers that we live in today.  With the help of his wife Enid and all nine of their children, they made a difference in the sign industry.  All nine of the kids worked in the sign business at one time or another to see if signs were in their blood.  Most of them left for careers in other fields, but four of them worked well enough together that they decided to continue the family tradition.  In 1994 the business was taken over by Dawn, Lori and Andy Girtain, with Jon Girtain joining the team in 1996.

We now do everything related to signs, such as: truck lettering, inexpensive temporary signs, banners, job site signs, gold leaf carved, store front illuminated boxes, channel letters, free standing pylon signs, large format digital printing, neon, LED borders, LED message centers, sign installation, sign service and parking lot maintenance.  We service and repair everything that we build.  We use our experience and knowledge to help our customers become more successful.  We have state of the art sign making and installation equipment such as a Sabre Router, Mimaki JV5 solvent base printer, Mimaki plotters, a 10’ hydraulic shear, Miller and Lincoln welders, Baker bucket trucks and a 65’ Sky Hoist crane.  Our dedication to the business along with our great crew of employees has enabled us to grow consistently.  We take pride in our work and our reputation backs it up!

Girtain Sign Company also specializes in sign maintenance and repair, in addition to our other products and services.  We have four bucket trucks, a 65' Skyhoist Crane, and multiple pick-ups and vans.
